Senior Matt Gingrich caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Brad Baer with 1:12 remaining to give McDaniel a 14-13 victory over host Catholic yesterday.

Catholic then drove down to the McDaniel 16-yard line, but Sam Weaver missed a 33-yard field-goal attempt.

The Green Terror (1-2) scored all of its points in the fourth quarter after struggling to find an offensive rhythm against the Cardinals.

Baer, who was 13-for-31 for 111 yards, threw a touchdown pass to Chris Eccleston less than two minutes into the fourth quarter to put the Green Terror on the board.

The Green Terror picked up its first win of the season despite being out-gained by Catholic, 341 yards to 202.

Christopher Newport 23, Salisbury 17 -- Roland Hillard shredded the Sea Gulls' defense for 207 yards rushing and three touchdowns, including his 15-yard score in overtime to lift the visiting Captains (2-1) past the Sea Gulls (1-2). Salisbury forced overtime on Brendan Kincaid's 40-yard field goal with six seconds left in the fourth quarter, but Kincaid missed a 44-yard attempt on Salisbury's first overtime possession. Hillard then scored the winning touchdown on his 40th carry of the game.

Randolph-Macon 10, Frostburg State 7 -- The Yellow Jackets (2-1) held off a late charge from the host Bobcats. After Randolph-Macon built a 10-0 lead in the third quarter, the Bobcats rallied behind quarterback Andre Dixon. He found junior tight end Fred Howze for a 19-yard touchdown pass, but Dixon fumbled twice in the fourth quarter, foiling the Bobcats' chances for a comeback.
