Furry fairies -- Days End Farm Horse Rescue, a nonprofit organization, will hold its 11th Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 30 at the farm, 15856 Frederick Road, Lisbon. Visitors will have a chance to judge a horse-costume contest at 1 p.m. (Farm volunteers dress a horse and themselves in imaginative and fantastic ways.) Pumpkin-decorating, face-painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, games, door prizes, food, music and a 50/50 raffle are planned. Proceeds go to take care of the abused and neglected horses rescued by Days End Farm; about 50 horses live there, including 12 rescued this summer. Admission is $5 for families; $2 for adults; $1 for children to age 12. Children to age 6 are admitted free. Donations are tax-deductible. 301-854-5037 or ww.defhr.org.
