Howard County Players will hold auditions for a November production of Meredith Wilson's The Music Man at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the auditorium at Howard High School, 8700 Route 108, Ellicott City.
The show will be directed by Mo Dutterer and choreographed by Tina DeSimone. Music will be directed by Aaron Broderick.
Actors and singers should bring a memorized song to sing and be prepared to present a movement sequence. A pianist and a boom box will be available. The show will be presented in the school's new auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16, 17 and 18.

Lawyer to offer assistance at center
Attorney Victor Berger will be at Ellicott City Senior Center, 9401 Frederick Road, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 27 for the 60 Plus Wills and Legal Screening Program.
Service to be offered include simple wills, powers of attorney, living wills, small estates and deed changes.
The program is open to Howard County residents ages 60 and older. The cost of document preparation is on a sliding scale.
The program, which is sponsored by the Howard County Department of Citizen Services' Office on Aging, is available on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Appointments are required and should be scheduled well in advance.
Drawing, painting classes scheduled
Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks will sponsor drawing and painting classes for those ages 55 and older from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 25 through Nov. 27 and 1:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Sept. 25 through Nov. 27 at Kiwanis-Wallas Recreation Center in Ellicott City.
The cost is $44; materials, which must be purchased separately, will be discussed at the first class.
Registration and payment are due as soon as possible.
All-you-can-eat breakfast Oct. 1
The Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary will hold all-you-can-eat breakfast is planned from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 1.
Participants are needed for the Fire Department's annual parade to thank the community for its support; the parade is to be held Oct. 7.
Fire Department units, marching bands, color guards, antique cars, motorcycles, community organizations and service groups are invited.
