Unity by the Bay to hold day of prayer

Unity by the Bay will have a Worldwide Day of Prayer through noon today at 836 Ritchie Highway, Suite 18, Severna Park.

Continuing events include a silent unity prayer time at noon, Monday through Thursday; meditation from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays; and "A Course in Miracles" from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursdays.

St. Martin's opens concert season today

St. Martin's Lutheran Church will open its 2006-2007 concert season at 7:30 p.m. today at 1120 Spa Road, Annapolis with a concert by trumpeters Davy DeArmond and Brian Strawley, along with organist Adric from the U.S. Naval Academy Band.

There is a suggested donation of $8.

Texas musician to lead hymns today

Steve Garrett of Texas will lead an evening of song at 7:30 p.m. today and tomorrow at the Church of Christ, 2 Eastern St., Glen Burnie.

Participants do not have to be a rehearsed singer.

Church to hold harvest festival

Wesley Grove United Methodist Church will hold its 26th annual Harvest Festival and flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow at 1320 Dorsey Road, Hanover.

The event will have food, crafts, vendors, baked goods, plants and produce.

Barbecue, pit beef and ham dinners will be sold.

Vendors and crafters are needed. The cost is $10 for a space.

St. Albans Episcopal Church will host a flea market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at 105 First Ave., SW, Glen Burnie.

Food and baked goods will be available for purchase.

Marriage workshop is set for Sunday

Our Lady of the Chesapeake Catholic Church will present a marriage workshop at 7 p.m. Sunday at 8325 Ventnor Road, Pasadena.

This course is for couples who are married or thinking about marriage and will explore how to make a relationship last a lifetime.

The cost is $40 per couple and registration is required.

Galilee Lutheran offers Bible course

Galilee Lutheran Church will offer Bible 101 at 9:20 a.m. Sunday at 4652 Mountain Road, Pasadena.

Lutheran educator Tim Merritt will teach this six-session course on Scriptures from the Old and New Testaments.

Registration opens For English class

Heritage Baptist Church will hold registration for an English as a second language class from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at 1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis.

The class will run Tuesdays from Sept. 26 through May 22, 2007.

St. Andrew's to hold crab feast Sept. 23

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church will hold its second annual crab feast from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 23 at the South River Club House, 1410 Circle Drive, Edgewater.

There will be a raffle to benefit mission work.

The cost is $35 for adults and $20 for children ages 6 to 14. Advance sale tickets will be available at a discount.
