Linda Suzanne Urspruch, a housekeeper and active church member, died of cancer Sept. 7 at her home in St. Michaels, where she had lived since 1971. She was 57.
The Ellicott City native was a 1966 graduate of Howard High School. She was an executive secretary for several years for Hittman Co. in Columbia before moving to the Eastern Shore.
FOR THE RECORD - An obituary published in Thursday's editions of The Sun for Linda Suzanne Urspruch incorrectly listed the date for her memorial gathering. It will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 14 at her Grace Street home in St. Michaels. The Sun regrets the error.
Ms. Urspruch had been a manager at the Inn at Perry Cabin and a youth counselor at Bethany House. In recent years, she had been a housekeeper.
She was an active communicant of Christ Episcopal Church in St. Michaels.
"She was so well known in St. Michaels that she was called the Queen of Grace Street," said her brother, William L. Urspruch of Chestertown.
A memorial gathering will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at her Grace Street home.
Also surviving are a sister, Donna L. Stephenson of Ruxton; and a nephew.
