Short-film festival

The DC Shorts Film Festival in Washington is like speed dating at the movies. The third annual film festival, running Thursday through Sept. 21, showcases 94 short films, all 20 minutes or less, and from around the globe. Screenings will take place at Landmark's E Street Cinema, 555 11th St. N.W. and at the Canadian Embassy, 501 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.

This year's short films include the eight-minute comedy Zombie-American, a mock-documentary about the challenges that zombies face in our culture. For more information, visit
