COLLEGE PARK -- For the past two football games, Maryland played well enough to win against lesser opponents.

It worked in the season opener against a Division I-AA school, and again last night for a rather ho-hum 24-10 win against Middle Tennessee State before a Byrd Stadium crowd of 47,704.
