Roger Wrenn suffered a loss in his first game as Poly's football coach, 21-6 to Southern last night, but the opening of Lumsden-Scott Stadium made it a bit more bearable.

"It was a wonderful event and a beautiful opening stadium," Wrenn said. "It was terrific. We had a big and enthusiastic crowd. We were outmatched by a tough Southern team, but we have a long way to go."

The opening of the renovated stadium brought out plenty of fans, who witnessed the opening of the city school's first turf field and the first night game at Poly. The field surface, Sportexe, is the same as the turf at M&T Bank Stadium.

Loyola and Dunbar will play today at Lumsden-Scott at 1 p.m., while Linganore will meet Edmondson at 7 p.m.

"The support tonight was amazing," Wrenn said. "It's going to be a wonderful thing for city football."
