Mary Louise Bowersox, 84, volunteer

Mary Louise Bowersox, a homemaker and volunteer, died of pneumonia Sept. 2 at William Hill Manor in Easton. The former Timonium resident was 84.

Born Mary Louise Pacy in Baltimore and raised on Riverside Avenue, she was the daughter of movie theater owner Arthur Pacy. She was a 1938 graduate of Southern High School and remained active in its alumni association.

In 1943, she married J. Artie Bowersox, a mechanical engineer at the National Brewing Co. He died in 1993.

Mrs. Bowersox was a volunteer at the Senior Craft Gallery run by the Baltimore County Department of Aging at the former Loch Raven Elementary School. She also volunteered at St Joseph Roman Catholic Church, were she was a communicant for 40 years and where a funeral Mass was offered Wednesday.

Survivors include a daughter, Martha B. Austin of St. Michaels; a sister, Amelia P. Benson of Towson; and four granddaughters. A son, Jay A. Bowersox Jr., died in 1995.
