Artisanal Premium Cheesecake: tasty, pricey

Go Try It

September 09, 2006|By Kate Shatzkin

What it is -- The cheesecake served at chef Terrance Bren nan's Manhattan restaurant, Ar tisanal Fromagerie and Bistro. It's available for mail order.

What we like about it --This New York-style cheesecake is rich but delicate in taste, with a soft cream-cheese center that contrasts with the crunch of a pecan-shortbread crumb crust and pecan praline topping. It was named Outstanding New Product for 2006 at the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade's recent Fancy Food Show in New York. We loved the taste and the prompt two-day delivery but paused at the price, which seemed a bit high.

What it costs --$45 plus $7.59 shipping

Where to buy --artisan alcheese.com
