Carroll fire damage put at $3 million

Damage was estimated at $3 million from the three-alarm fire that destroyed a fiberglass insulation warehouse in Finksburg, the state fire marshal's office said yesterday.

A short in a damaged electrical cable ignited the fire Tuesday morning on the first floor of Cary Insulation in the 2900 block of Dede Road, off Route 140, Deputy State Fire Marshal W. Faron Taylor said.

The fire caused no injury, but a firefighter was stung by a swarm of bees, he said.
