Reverent Fog Festival

The lowdown -- You have no excuses to miss this weekend's Reverent Fog Festival, a free two-day blowout inside and outside the Talking Head Club. The roster of 20 or so bands includes Pissed Jeans, Air Conditioning, First Nation and the Donnar Parker Trio. Kid Congo Powers, a guitarist and singer-songwriter who has worked with Nick Cave and other artists, headlines Saturday night. Power trio Pearls and Brass, a '70s fuzz rock band based in Philadelphia, headlines Sunday.

Sidebar's Mods

The lowdown -- Tomorrow Mod Fun, a trio from New Jersey, headlines this month's Reaction dance party at the Sidebar Tavern. DJs Amanda Otto and Matt Walter get things rolling at 9 p.m., and they sometimes give guest DJs a turn on the tables. Dressing up in mod garb is always a plus.

Lift one for Brewer's Art

The lowdown -- Happy 10th birthday, Brewer's Art! After the First Thursday concert in Mount Vernon park this evening, the Charles Street haven for beer lovers will unveil its 10th Anniversary Ale. Celebrations continue each day through Wednesday, with drink and food specials, beer tastings and more. See the bar's Web site for more details.
