ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Two of their runners were caught stealing, they couldn't score a run with men on first and third and one out in the fifth inning, and then they couldn't bring home a runner in scoring position with less than two outs in the sixth.

Against a team that still harbors playoff aspirations, the Orioles simply can't afford to turn their noses at such luxuries. Rodrigo Lopez pitched one of his best games of the season, but got zero support as the Orioles were beaten by the Los Angeles Angels, 1-0, before 38,217 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Orioles@Angels Tonight, 10:05, Ch. 54, 1090 AM Starters: Orioles' Kris Benson (10-10, 4.78 ERA) vs. Angels' John Lackey (11-9, 3.63)
