Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Burglary -- Someone broke into a home in the 6200 block of The Alameda and stole $5,000 worth of jewelry sometime between 12:21 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The thief pried the lock off the front door.


Stolen vehicle -- A green and gray 1994 Buick Skylark was reported stolen about 1 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of N. Bentalou St. It had Maryland tags 1CF K11.

Baltimore County


Arson -- An abandoned house at 21 Hilltop Road, owned by the paper company Simkins Industries, was set on fire about 11 p.m. Saturday. Investigators found accelerants at the site.


Robbery -- A 25-year-old woman was robbed of her Coach purse in a parking lot off Towson Circle about12:30 a.m. The male robber was accompanied by four or five other men.


Robbery -- A 26-year-old man from Dallastown, Pa., was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with robbing a High's store in the Hereford area of $300 and threatening workers. The suspect, identified as Mark Bechtel, was arrested nearby a short time after the 3:05 p.m. robbery of the store in the 16900 block of York Road.
