LABOR DAY CONCERT -- The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra will present its rescheduled Summer Series concert at 6 p.m. at Quiet Waters Park, 600 Quiet Waters Park, Annapolis. Admission is free. 410-269-1132.


ARUNDEL COUNCIL -- The Anne Arundel County Council will meet at 7 p.m. at 44 Calvert St., Annapolis. Agenda items include the capital budget, Board of Education expenses and roadway solicitations by minors. 410-222-1401.


MEN'S HEALTH EXPO -- Upper Chesapeake Health will hold a Men's Health Expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion, 501 St. John's St., Havre de Grace. Free health screenings will be available. 800-515-0044.


FIRST THURSDAY CONCERT -- This month's First Thursday Concert will be at 5:30 p.m. in West Mount Vernon Park in Mount Vernon and will feature a performance by The Colour. Admission to the show, sponsored by WTMD-FM and the Downtown Partnership, is free.


PATRIOTIC WEEKEND -- Star-Spangled Banner Weekend will be celebrated in Baltimore beginning with a ceremony at 6 p.m. at the Inner Harbor after which War of 1812 re-enactors will take historic ships to Locust Point and march in a parade to Fort McHenry. The three-day celebration will continue Saturday and Sunday at Fort McHenry, highlighted on Saturday with a concert and a fireworks display at dusk. 410-962-4920.

STEAM SHOW -- The Mason Dixon Historical Society will hold its 44th annual Steam & Gas Round-Up from 7 a.m. to dusk Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Carroll County Farm Museum, 500 S. Center St., Westminster. Admission is free. 410-386-3880.


UKRAINIAN FESTIVAL -- Baltimore's annual Ukrainian Festival will be from noon to 10 p.m. at Patterson Park, Linwood and Eastern avenues. It will continue from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. Admission to the event, part of the city's Showcase of Nations ethnic festivals, is free. 410-687-3465

DRAGON BOAT RACES -- Catholic Charities' Dragon Boat Races will be from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Boats sponsored by about 30 organizations will compete in heats between the World Trade Center and the Maryland Science Center.

WEST AFRICAN MUSIC -- The Kunsun Ensemble, a musical and dance group based in Ghana, West Africa, will perform at 7 p.m. at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St., Annapolis. Admission is free and no tickets are required. or 410-263-5544.


HEALTH FAIR -- A Community Health Fair and Back-to-School Extravaganza will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Northwestern High School, Park Heights Avenue and Fallstaff Road. The event is hosted by LifeBridge Health and the Talmudical Academy. Admission is free; carnival rides require tickets.
