Defender's Day: A hope for a revival

There was a time when Defender's Day was a really big deal in Baltimore. It was to this city what Patriot's Day - the commemoration of Paul Revere's ride - still is to Boston: a local holiday universally celebrated in the city.

The denizens of Fort McHenry would like to see it become a big deal again. The national monument has its annual celebration of the holiday this coming weekend.
