Randolph B. Godfrey, age 79, of Salisbury, died Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. M-BM- He was born on January 9, 1927 in Snow Hill, a son of the late Lawrence and Kate Beauchamp Godfrey. M-BM- Randolph proudly served his country in the US Army from April 1945 to May 1947. He is survived by his loving friend and companion, Joyce Givans of Salisbury; a step-daughter, Carol Lea Hurd of Baltimore; three step-grandchildren, Eddie Hurd, Jr.Tina Snyder and Theresa Newberger. Four brothers, Lawrence Godfrey, Norman Godfrey, Robert Godfrey and Donald Godfrey and five sisters, Mary Dickerson, Margaret Tarr, Esther Chase and Ellen Renn and Jean McFord. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ola May Godfrey in 1996, and two brothers, William and Sidney Godfrey. M-BM- A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where family and friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00. The Reverend Sam McWilliams will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron.
