Woman dies in overpass fall

A Howard County woman was killed early Friday afternoon after a fall from the Route 100 overpass onto the northbound lanes of Interstate 95.

State police said Ashley Beth Rosenthal, 23, of Ellicott City died at the scene. They were investigating her death as an apparent suicide.

According to investigators, the "apparently distraught" woman stopped her vehicle along the shoulder of Route 100 and leapt over the concrete barrier. The woman was hit by a car after the fall.
