A police blotter item published in yesterday's editions of The Sun inaccurately described criminal charges filed against Derrell Coates, 22, stemming from the shooting September 2004 of Carl Dubose in Northwest Baltimore. Dubose died as a result of his wounds, and Coates was charged with first-degree murder.

The Sun regrets the error.
