Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Suspicious death -- Pending an autopsy, police are investigating as suspicious the death of an unidentified woman whose body was found about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the rear yard of a vacant house in the 5100 block of Beaufort Ave.


Arrest -- Linwood Colvin, 27, of the 2800 block of Carver Road was arrested Tuesday in the 1600 block of Ward Court on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. Colvin is accused of shooting Bryant Fancher, 28, on June 7 in the 800 block of Bethune Road.


Shooting -- A 23-year-old man was standing in the rear of the 7100 block of McClean Blvd. about 9:20 p.m. Monday when he was shot in the left shoulder by an unidentified gunman. Later, the victim walked into the emergency room at Good Samaritan Hospital seeking treatment.


Theft -- Three compact discs, $45 and a wallet were stolen Wednesday from a 2003 Toyota Corolla parked in the 400 block of Water St.

Robbery -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed the McDonald's in the 100 block of E. Baltimore St. of an undisclosed sum of money about 4 a.m. Monday.


Assault -- Two teenage boys were sitting on the front steps of a house in the 6200 block of Fortview Way about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when they were assaulted by five other youths, including one armed with a handgun. When the victims fled, the youth with the gun fired a shot that did not hit anyone.


Shooting -- A man was shot in the lower back in the 2300 block of Winchester St. about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday by another man who drove off in a shiny blue Ford Crown Victoria. The victim was treated at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Shooting -- Police were seeking a man who stepped from a car in the 1000 block of Arlington Ave. about 2:20 a.m. Monday and shot another man in the left leg. The victim was treated at Shock Trauma.

Baltimore County

Drug arrest -- Motorist Angel Green, 28 of Charlottesville, Va., was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with possession of marijuana and the drug Ecstasy after being stopped by Maryland Transportation Authority Police for followling too closely on Interstate 95 in Rosedale.

Burglary -- A generator and an air compressor were stolen Tuesday from a shed in the 1100 block of 63rd St. They were valued at $1,000.

North Point

Arson -- Someone set fire to a pile of hay next to an exterior wall of Mount Olive Baptist Church in the 600 block of Mount Olive Road about 4 p.m. Tuesday.


Robbery -- A man, 25, was talking on a pay phone in the 400 block of Compass Road about 7 a.m. Monday when a gunman stepped from a car and robbed him of $250.
