Meeting to focus on health, healing

The Christian Science Society will hold its monthly meeting at noon and 8 p.m. Wednesday at 101 First Ave., SE, Glen Burnie. The meeting will focus on a spiritual approach to health and healing. 410-766-9390 or 410-242-5014.

Course to explore basics of faith

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1110 St. Stephen's Church Road in Crownsville, will host its Alpha Course on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. from Thursday through Nov. 16.

The course will be an introduction to exploring the basics of faith or be a time of discovery and renewal for others.

Each evening will include dinner, prayer, video and group discussion.

Heritage Baptist to hold Golf Classic

Heritage Baptist Church will hold a Golf Classic at 9 a.m. Sept. 14 at Bay Hills Golf Club, 535 Bay Hills Drive, Arnold.

The cost is $55, and the package will include the greens and cart fee, continental breakfast, lunch and tournament service.

Registration at the church, 1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis, is required by Thursday.

Church seeks items for flea market

Community United Methodist Church will hold a flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at 300 Brock Bridge Road, Laurel.

Used items except clothing may be donated for the church's benefit table.

Proceeds will benefit the CUMC women's group.

The cost is $10 for a space and $12 if a table is provided. Set-up will begin at 8 a.m.

Jenkins Memorial to mark 75 years

Jenkins Memorial Church will hold its 75th anniversary celebration Sept. 10 at 133 Riviera Drive, Pasadena.

The celebration will begin with a worship service at 10 a.m. followed by a luncheon at noon.

The program highlighting the history of Jenkins Memorial will begin at 1:30 p.m.

The church is seeking members of the Benway and Jenkins families to participate.

Bingo blast is set for Sept. 10

Church of the Good Shepherd is holding a "bingo blast" at 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at 1451 Furnace Ave., Glen Burnie.

A roast beef platter beverages and cards are included for a donation of $20. Doors open at 1 p.m.

The jackpot is $500.

All-male breakfast features fellowship

Grace Baptist Church, 17 Somerset Road, Pasadena, will host a Brotherhood Breakfast at 8 a.m. on Sept. 10.

The breakfast is for males only and is free. A devotional and fellowship will follow.

Church to hold angel workshop

Unity by the Bay Church will hold an angel workshop from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at 836 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park.

Melissa Feick will host the workshop in honor of UBB International Angel Day.

Proceeds will benefit the House of Ruth.

Kneseth Israel to hold program

Congregation Kneseth Israel will present "From Generation to Generation" at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 in the conference room at the William Paca House, 186 Prince George St., Annapolis.

This event will feature the final program about the Jewish presence in Anne Arundel County, written and produced by Sharie Lacey Valerio.

The 40-minute production portrays the Jewish experience from 1906 to present, and debuted at the temple's centennial anniversary gala in May.

A panel discussion will follow. This program is free, but reservations are required.

Church to hold Harvest Festival

Wesley Grove United Methodist Church will hold its 26th annual Harvest Festival and flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 16 at 1320 Dorsey Road, Hanover.

The event will have food, crafts, vendors, baked goods, plants and produce.

Barbecue, pit beef and ham dinners will be sold.

Vendors and crafters are needed.

The cost is $10 for a space.
