Rangers update

Texas dropped two out of three to Oakland over the weekend to fall eight games behind the Athletics in the American League West. The Rangers are 4-2 against the Orioles this season and won both games in Texas in early May. Millwood, tonight's starter, is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA against the Orioles this season. Despite his unimpressive 6.42 ERA, tomorrow's starter Tejeda has pitched well in winning his past two starts. Rangers first baseman and Severna Park native Mark Teixeira has homered four times against the Orioles this season. He hit three in one game at Camden Yards in July. Teixeira has had a disappointing season but still leads Texas with 21 homers. Shortstop Michael Young has had another strong season, batting .308 with a league-leading 45 doubles and 84 RBIs. Former Oriole Gary Matthews has had a career year, hitting .306 with 14 homers and 65 RBIs. Carlos Lee has batted .325 since being acquired in July.
