An article in the Maryland section yesterday about the unveiling of the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in Arnold incorrectly identified the first African-American lieutenant governor of Colorado. He was George Leslie Brown, who served from 1974 to 1979.

An item in the "2b" column in Sunday's editions incorrectly said U.S. Senate candidate Kweisi Mfume "did time." While his autobiography refers to multiple arrests in his youth, Mfume has never served a prison term, his campaign said yesterday.

An article in Sunday's Travel section incorrectly identified the owner of Verdant View Bed and Breakfast in Paradise, Pa. He is Donald Ranck.

An article published Aug. 22 about the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy on Crestpark Drive incorrectly identified the Rippling Estates neighborhood in which the street is located.

The Sun regrets the errors.
