Johnstown Folkfest

While Johnstown, Pa., may not be known for its folk music, it is known for its annual folk music festival. This year's Johnstown Folkfest, the 16th annual and free to the public, takes place Friday through Sept. 3 at Festival Park in Johnstown. More than 20 national musical acts from an array of genres will play on four stages, and there will be more than 60 food vendors.

Performers this year include the New York-based Jewish-music group Balkan Beat Box, rockabilly musician Sleepy LaBeef, soul group the Billy Price Band and many more. Festivalgoers can hear more than 70 hours of live music throughout the three-day festival.

Festival hours are 5:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Friday, noon-12:30 a.m. Saturday and noon-11:30 p.m. Sept. 3. Free shuttle buses will be available. Visit or call 888-222-1889.
