In this age of e-vites, a pretty little shop has opened to give us a civilized alternative. For almost three years Rachelle Harper had a custom invitation design studio in Canton, but there was so much demand that she decided to open a retail store, Chelle Paperie, in Hampden.

Besides invitations, she sells stationery, papers and envelopes for custom cards, beautiful gift wrap and high-quality ribbon. There are stamp embossers and decorative papers from Italy, Japan and India.

She also carries a line of chic office accessories, russell+hazel, which has been featured in Lucky, Domino and Elle Decor. There's a handsome five-file tote bag, for instance, in black or white with leather handles, that retails for $48.

Chelle (pronounced Shell-A) Paperie is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday.
