City police raided a Reservoir Hill apartment Thursday afternoon, arresting two adults and two youths and recovering $4,000 worth of drugs.

The raid of a first-floor apartment in the 800 block of W. North Ave. stemmed from an undercover cocaine purchase on Aug. 19, according to Detective David Jones of the department's Central District Drug Enforcement Unit.

As officers with the unit were about to raid the apartment about 1 p.m., they spotted a 15-year-old youth outside with marijuana. After arresting him, they found he also was holding crack cocaine, Jones said.

Inside the apartment, police found 300 capsules of heroin and 66 vials of crack cocaine. They arrested Shirley Stewart, 34, who lived in the apartment, as well as Maurice Peterson, 26, of the 1600 block of Baker St. Both face a variety of drug charges, and Peterson is charged with employing a minor to distribute drugs, Jones said.

Police also found drugs inside the room of Stewart's 13-year-old son and charged him as a juvenile with possession of drugs, Jones said.
