Rebecca Shaw, 65, insurance firm clerk

Rebecca F. Shaw, a retired insurance company clerk and lifelong Mount Airy resident, died of intracerebral bleeding Aug. 15 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was 65.

Rebecca Fay Rimbey was born and raised in Mount Airy, where she also graduated from high school in 1959.

For 38 years until retiring in 1999, Mrs. Shaw was a clerk for Geico Insurance Co. in Chevy Chase and Fredericksburg, Va.

She enjoyed bowling and dancing.

"She loved to dance at the Silver Dollar Lounge in Frederick," said her son, Gerald R. Shaw of Mount Airy.

Mrs. Shaw was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, where she sang with the choir and where services were held Saturday.

Also surviving are a daughter, Nora Lee Gochenour of Smithsburg; a brother, Robert W. Rimbey of Mount Airy; and two grandchildren. Her marriage to George R. Shaw ended in divorce.
