As summer wanes and students prepare to return to school, Morgan State University's marching band, "The Magnificent Marching Machine," is already on campus.

The band has a summer camp every year to get its members in shape, physically and musically, for the fall football season.

During the camp, college students participate in drills and musical tests. Band members, flag bearers and dancers become familiar with 12-hour days as the director and leaders put them through boot camp-style physical training.

The first public display of their hard work will be Sept. 2 at Towson University, when the Morgan State Bears battle the Towson Tigers.
