Egekeze unseats Ennis as Terps' starting kicker

Maryland kicker Obi Egekeze unseated Dan Ennis for the starting spot in yesterday's scrimmage at Byrd Stadium, coach Ralph Friedgen said, "unless that changes."

Ennis, a former walk-on who was last year's starter while Egekeze sat out with a tear in his thigh, began struggling midway through last season and has been missing field goals at practices. He missed a 42-yard kick in last night's scrimmage - which was closed to the public and the media - while Egekeze made field goals of 42 and 27 yards.
