Ohio State voted preseason No. 1

For the first time since 1998, Ohio State was voted the preseason No. 1 in the Associated Press' college football Top 25 poll. Notre Dame is No. 2, the best preseason showing for the Irish since they were second in 1994. Texas will start the defense of its national title at No. 3. Southern California, the preseason No. 1 the past two years, starts at No. 6.
