Greg Maddux, pitcher, Dodgers -- Maddux has held opponents to two earned runs in 20 innings since being traded.

Joe Saunders, pitcher, Angels -- The surprising rookie is 4-0 with a 1.67 ERA since his July call-up.

Mark DeRosa, outfielder, Rangers -- DeRosa has continued a surprising season, going 13-for-29 with four homers and 15 RBIs since Aug. 8.


Scott Olsen, pitcher, Marlins -- Olsen had become a popular waiver pickup but has allowed 13 earned runs in his past 17 1/3 innings.

B.J. Upton, infielder, Devil Rays -- Many had high hopes for the recent call-up, but he's batting .200 with no homers in 13 games.

Pedro Martinez, pitcher, Mets -- Amid continuing concerns about his health and durability, Martinez allowed six runs in one inning in his last start.
