Traffic changes due for game

August 16, 2006

Baltimore's Department of Transportation has announced traffic modifications intended to ease congestion in the Russell Street construction area before and after tomorrow's 8 p.m. pre-season football game between the Ravens and the Philadelphia Eagles at M&T Bank Stadium.

Where a single lane of northbound Russell Street has been open in the construction area, two lanes will be opened after evening rush-hour traffic eases to accommodate motorists heading to the football stadium area. The double-lane flow will be reversed again after the game begins to accommodate traffic heading south from the stadium.

The department said that during a 45-minute transition period to change the traffic pattern, only a single lane will be open in each direction.

Motorists also were warned that parking agents will strictly enforce restrictions in neighborhoods near the stadium, where parking on game days is limited to residents displaying permits.

The city's Fallsway impound lot will be open for two hours after the game for motorists to claim towed vehicles.
