Four back for `O' line

Terps football

Four injured offensive linemen returned to practice at Maryland yesterday morning, giving the unit the most depth it's had since the Terps began practice last week.

Senior left tackle Stephon Heyer, who did not play in the scrimmage Saturday evening at Byrd Stadium because of a concussion, practiced yesterday. Guards Donnie Woods (hamstring), Andrew Crummey (hamstring) and backup center Phil Costa (back strain) also rejoined the team yesterday.

"It makes a world of difference from a depth standpoint," coach Ralph Friedgen said, "but they were dragging a little bit today."

The Terps are still missing right tackle Jared Gaither and Jaimie Thomas, offensive linemen who are suspended until Monday for violating team rules. Linebacker David Holloway is still out with a bruised thigh.
