`Oil and Water'

Oil and Water, a new exhibit at the MFA Circle Gallery, showcases work by local artists Laura Deane and William H. Tallon.

After more than 15 years forming pottery, Annapolis-based Deane switched to watercolors about two years ago. Her 10 or so pieces in the exhibit use bright colors and floral designs.

Tallon's landscape, figurative and architectural works are mostly oils on canvas and linen, and represent almost seven years of work, he said.

MFA Circle Gallery, 18 State Circle in Annapolis, hosts Oil and Water through Sept. 3. There is a reception 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays. Call 410-268-4566 or visit
