TORONTO -- Whether they really believe it or are just saying the right thing to not further damage the psyche of a veteran pitcher who has completely lost his way, the Orioles maintain that they have seen some progress in pitcher Russ Ortiz.

Even yesterday, after Ortiz was pounded for six runs, including two home runs, while getting just nine outs in the Orioles' 8-1 matinee beat down by the Toronto Blue Jays before 23,838 at Rogers Centre, manager Sam Perlozzo said that his starting pitcher made some progress.
