Joint pain seminar to offer tips, options

Upper Chesapeake Health is offering a free seminar on joint pain from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 15 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.

Dr. Brian DeMuth, board certified orthopedic surgeon, will offer tips on how to have a better quality of life and different options for individuals suffering from joint pain.

Registration being taken for CPR class

Upper Chesapeake Health is offering a cardiopulmonary resuscitation class from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 16 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.

The class follows the American Heart Association standards.

The cost is $35 (cash or check only).

Free eye screenings for children Aug. 19

Dr. Eugene Protzko, a pediatric ophthalmologist, will offer free eye screenings to children from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 19 at the Ambulatory Care Center, Suite 401, on the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center campus.

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Ophthalmology recommend that children's eyes be checked at birth, at 6 months, at 3 years, and every two years thereafter.

This screening is for children 17 and younger. Children's eyes will not be dilated.

Appointments are required.
