Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Arrests -- Daymar Winbish, 16, was arrested Tuesday at his Carroll County home by members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force and charged as an adult with first-degree murder and arson. Winbish, of the 2200 block of Fawn Haven Court near Sykesville, is accused of setting fire to the apartment of Said Sawab, 37, in the 5500 block of Gwynn Oak Ave. on Dec. 7. Sawab died at the scene. Arrested July 28 on a warrant charging him as an adult in Sawab's death was Calvin Wilkes, 17, of the 5400 block of Clifton Ave. Both suspects were being held without bail yesterday at Central Booking and Intake Center.


Arrest -- Queen Anne's County authorities and members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested Jerry Anderson, 20, of the 500 block of Random Road in Baltimore on Tuesday on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder. Anderson, arrested on Kent Island, is accused of shooting Elroy Long, 20, in the 400 block of Long Island Ave. on July 8.


Arrest -- Larry McMillian, 21, of no fixed address, was arrested July 29 in the 2300 block of E. Northern Parkway on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder. McMillian is accused of shooting Shawn Ruffin, 33, near Ruffin's home in the 2000 block of Woodbourne Ave. on May 25.


Robbery -- Police were seeking a gunman who stole several cases of cigarettes from a delivery truck in the 2200 block of W. North Ave. about 9 a.m. Tuesday.


Burglary -- Someone broke into a house in the 1900 block of Gough St. on Tuesday through a rear door and stole two U.S. passports, 100 compact discs and a necklace.

Burglary -- Transmission parts and pieces of aluminum - all valued at nearly $1,000 - were stolen Monday from a shed in the 6200 block of Holabird Ave.

Burglary -- An air conditioner and several video games - all valued at $600 - were stolen Monday from JAG Transport Inc. in the first block of S. Newkirk St.

Stolen vehicle -- A 1993 Ford F-350 pickup with tags 51R 991 was stolen Tuesday in the 6200 block of Holabird Ave.


Burglary -- One hundred digital video discs were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1200 block of Sargeant St. by someone who entered through a rear door. They were valued at $1,200.

Burglary -- Someone entered an apartment in the 2300 block of Round Road between July 24 and Monday and stole a 27-inch television, a digital video disc player, two gold rings and three leather coats.

Burglary -- An air compressor and tools - all valued at $3,240 - were stolen between July 22 and Monday from a house under renovation in the 1400 block of W. Pratt St.

Baltimore County

White Marsh

Theft/arrest -- A man was arrested Tuesday afternoon when he tried to leave Macy's at White Marsh Mall without paying for clothing valued at $404. Charged with theft was Marcus Faulk, 20, of the 400 block of Finney Ave..

Theft/arrest -- A Dundalk woman attempted to leave Giant Food in the 8600 block of Philadelphia Road on Tuesday without paying for health products valued at nearly $200 and was arrested by a store security officer. Charged with theft was Patricia Goetz, 43, of the 100 block of Avalon Ave.


Robbery -- A 48-year-old man from North Carolina was standing outside a motel in the 400 block of Reisterstown Road about 10 a.m. Tuesday when an unarmed man robbed him of $20.
