FESTIVAL

MUSIC AND CRABS AT WEEKEND FESTIVAL

A music festival featuring 14 African-American groups and singers from the late 1960s, 1970s and 1980s would be a fine enough festival. But add an all-you-can-eat crab feast into the mix, and you've got a festival extravaganza. Tomorrow through Sunday, that's just what you'll have at the Maryland Music Festival and Crab Feast at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro.

The three-day fest, hosted by Jimmie "JJ" Walker, includes live music from the Stylistics, the Chi-Lites, Peaches and Herb, the Brothers Johnson Revue, the Intruders, the Dramatics, War, New Birth, Ohio Players and many others. Festival-goers can also browse vendor booths and hear DJ music. Saturday and Sunday, visitors can partake of an all-you-can-eat crab feast (with various other foods, as well) and an open bar.

.......................

The music festival begins at 7 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday and at 5 p.m. Sunday. Concert costs $60 per day. Three-day concert pass costs $150. Crab feast runs 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Festival and feast take place at the Show Place Arena, 14900 Pennsylvania Ave., Upper Marlboro. Crab feast is $65; $35 ages 6-12; free for ages 5 and younger. Call 866-703-CRAB or visit crabfeast.com.
