Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Theft -- A bicycle valued at $800 was stolen Monday while left unattended outside a restaurant in the 1300 block of N. Charles St.


Armed carjacking -- A 57-year-old New York man was standing outside his 2006 Range Rover in the 1800 block of Ashburton St. about 9 p.m. Monday discussing a minor traffic mishap with another motorist when a gunman robbed him of an undisclosed sum of money, two cell phones and the vehicle, which had New York tag DJR5271.


Stolen vehicle -- A red 1987 Ford F-150 pickup truck with tags 38R 395 was stolen Monday in the first block of S. Eden St.

Stolen vehicle -- A white 1999 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with Pennsylvania tag YMA6520 was stolen Monday in the first block of N. Belnord Ave.

Burglary -- Power tools valued at $1,150 were stolen Monday from a house in the 3000 block of Hudson St. by someone who entered through a second-floor window.

Stolen vehicle -- A silver--colored 1995 Jeep Cherokee with tags 029M698 was stolen Monday in the 300 block of S. East Ave.


Theft -- A box containing several pieces of jewelry - valued together at $2,050 - was stolen from a 2002 Kia between Friday and Sunday while the vehicle was parked in the 1600 block of Johnson St.

Theft/arrests -- Police arrested two men and were seeking two others in the shoplifting of computer equipment from Wal-Mart in the 2700 block of Port Covington Drive on Sunday. The equipment was recovered. Charged with theft were Todd Archibald, 28, of Linthicum Heights and Timothy Schmitz, 27, whose address was not available.

Baltimore County


Theft/arrest -- After a man armed with a butcher knife stole beauty products from Dollar Tree in the 100 block of Carroll Island Road about 1 p.m. Monday, a store employee followed him to the nearby Wal-Mart. A suspect was arrested and the weapon recovered. Charged with armed robbery and possession of a deadly weapon was Ricky Ray, 36, of the 3700 block of Woodbine Ave., Baltimore.


Burglary -- Someone entered a locker at Public Storage in the 10700 block of Reisterstown Road July 13 and stole a large-screen television and a digital video disc player - items valued at $3,600. The burglary was reported Sunday.

White Marsh

Theft -- Someone entered a utility room at Rosedale Baptist Church in the 9200 block of Philadelphia Road Monday and stole $466.


Vandalism -- A 2001 GMC Sierra sport utility vehicle was parked in the 500 block of Lake Vista Circle on Monday when someone punctured two of its tires.


Bank robbery try -- A man attempted to rob Sun Trust Bank in the 2800 block of Smith Ave. about 2 p.m. Monday, but fled when a teller couldn't understand what he was saying.
