Anne Arundel County police arrested a 26-year-old Annapolis man Thursday in the May killing of a 49-year-old Glen Burnie man, but detectives are continuing to investigate the death.

Ranardo Molton of the 2000 block of Forest Drive has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Joseph Charles Cortina Jr., police said. Molton was being held yesterday at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.

The body of Cortina, who was last seen alive May 28, was found at his home May 30 in the 700 block of Old Stage Road by his estranged wife, police said. A medical examiner determined that he had died as a result of blunt force trauma to the upper body.

Police are asking anyone with information to call authorities at (410) 222-3453 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
