City police found two men shot to death in a car parked in the driveway of a Northwest Baltimore house early yesterday.

Northwestern District officers were called to the 5500 block of Wesley Ave. shortly before 1 a.m. to investigate reported gunfire. They found a black Nissan sports car parked in a driveway, with bullet damage.

Inside the vehicle were the two victims - one in the driver's seat, the other in the passenger seat. They were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said investigators were attempting to confirm the identities of the victims, believed to be in their 30s. They were tentatively identified by their girlfriends, but detectives were still seeking the men's relatives, police said.

The deaths bring the city's homicide count for this year to 153, compared with 158 at the same time in 2005, police said.
