Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Arrest -- Mark Anthony Cat Brooks, 40, was arrested yesterday in a house in the 2500 block of Banger St. in Lakeland by members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a charge of first-degree murder, said task force Detective Anthony Lansey. Brooks, of the 2200 block of Clifton Ave., is accused of fatally stabbing Russell Eugene Duckworth Jr., 33, during a fight June 24 in the 4800 block of Pennington Ave.

Robbery -- A 27-year-old woman walking in the 800 block of Battery Ave. was thrown to the pavement about 10 p.m. Tuesday by a man who robbed her of $157 and a cell phone.


Arrest -- Sean Ramseur, 36, of the 500 block of Sheridan Ave., was arrested Tuesday morning in a vacant apartment near his home on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder. Ramseur is accused of fatally stabbing neighbor Gary Shipman, 28, several times during a drug-related fight outside the victim's home on July 12, said Detective Vincent Stevenson of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force.


Drug arrests -- A man, his wife and two other people were arrested Tuesday afternoon at Charles Street and North Avenue by members of the district drug enforcement unit after officers observed them selling clonazepam, a prescribed drug used by methadone patients to get a high similar to heroin, said Detective David Jones. Charged with possession of and distributing the drug was Ashley Jones, 23, of the first block of Upland Road in Roland Park. Charged with conspiracy to distribute the drug were her husband, Bradley Jones, 31, also of Upland Road, and Twylin Simmons, 47, of the 1700 block of St. Paul St. Charged with drug possession was Wayne Savage, 57, of the 100 block of S. Central Ave., from whom police reported seizing four clonazepam pills.

Baltimore County


Shooting -- A 24-year-old man was reported in serious condition at St. Agnes Hospital yesterday after an unknown person shot him near his apartment in the 2900 block of Lakebrook Circle shortly before 4 p.m.

White Marsh

Felony theft/arrest -- An employee of Dunbar Armored in the 4900 block of Mercantile Road was arrested Tuesday and charged with stealing $2,000 from the company. A security camera recorded the theft on May 1, showing an employee placing the money in her socks. Arrested was Towanda Wilson, 32, of the 4200 block of Shamrock Ave. The money was not recovered.

Theft/arrests -- Two women were arrested Tuesday when they attempted to leave Macy's at White Marsh Mall without paying for clothing valued at $300. Charged with petty theft were Andrea Emmons, 19, of the 2400 block of Perring Woods Road, and Brianna Marcantoni, 20, of Harrisonburg, Va.


Robbery -- A gunman robbed a 54-year-old man of $80 about 5 a.m. Tuesday in the first block of Glenwood Road.

North Point

Burglary -- A computer was stolen Tuesday from a classroom at Battle Grove Elementary School in the 7800 block of St. Patricia Lane.


Armed robbery -- A 22-year-old man was walking along Naylors Lane near Reisterstown Road about 2 a.m. Tuesday when several men, one with a handgun, stepped from a car and robbed him of a cell phone, his tennis shoes and socks.
