The skinny on local clubs

Drifter's Raw Bar and Grill

Easily two or three times larger than it looks from the outside, Drifter's has two levels and several bars. Even when it's packed, you won't go thirsty.

Where --1024 S. Charles St.

Notable --The mannequins. You'll swear that's a real person sitting by the front window until you get up close. Another, dressed as a pirate with a knife in his mouth, hangs on ropes from the ceiling.

Vibe --Drifter's has a water motif. You could easily be in a shanty near some shady 1700s seaport. Except, of course, for the flat screen TVs and the Golden Tee 2005 arcade game in the back room.

Crowd --Mostly 20s and 30s, though you might see a slightly older bunch by day.

What to wear --Jeans and shorts are the norm at Drifter's. Dressy outfits are a little too much, even on a Friday night.
