Two men were injured last night in an explosion at a Carroll County manufacturing facility at 711 Corporate Center Court in Westminster, fire officials said.

Authorities are investigating the possibility that the explosion at Carleton Pressure Technology Division originated from a piece of machinery, said Westminster Fire Chief Jeff Alexander.

One employee was flown to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with burns to his upper torso, arms and head, Alexander said. The second employee had minor injuries and was taken to Carroll Hospital Center for evaluation, Alexander said. The two were not identified.

The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health agency is investigating the incident, officials said.
