Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Arrest -- Barry Newman of the 300 block of S. Monroe St. was arrested about 9 a.m. yesterday at a parole and probation office by members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force on charges of attempted murder and a handgun violation. Newman, 28, is accused of shooting Leroy Sanders, 22, outside the victim's home in the 1900 block of Wilhelm St. on July 18.


Stolen vehicle -- A man who locked his keys inside his 1995 Ford Escort in the first block of S. Gay St. asked a couple to watch the car about 2 p.m. Monday while he left to get a coat hanger for an attempt to open the door. When the man returned a few minutes later, he found only shattered glass where the car had been parked. It had tags 2BS F93.


Stabbing -- A teenage girl was in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being stabbed in the chest during a fight Sunday afternoon in the 1500 block of W. Baltimore St. The girl had surgery for a collapsed lung.

Baltimore County


Theft -- A copper bird feeder valued at $75 was stolen over the weekend from the backyard of a house in the first block of Club View Lane.


Robbery -- After placing items on the counter at a Shell station in the first block of Main St. about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, a man displayed a knife and took at least $100 from the cash register.

Burglary -- A bicycle valued at $90 was stolen Monday from in front of a house in the 800 block of Lindellen Ave.
