Cool pools -- The Columbia Association's 23 neighborhood outdoor pools are available to those who live on property protected by the association's covenants. Residents who don't have a membership but can show a resident card can pay by the day to use the pools. The free cards are available at the Membership Services Center, above Clyde's restaurant on the Columbia lakefront. To obtain a card, take a driver's license or imprinted personal check, and your dependent children's birth certificates. Family members must be present to receive cards. Daily admission to the pools is $8; $5 for children to age 16. The Ann Scherr Fund provides grants to help low-income families pay for reduced-price summer pool memberships. 410-730-1801.
