CHARLES JOSEPH "JOE" LOVE, 66, of Rt. 6, Box 6616, Keyser, WV, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at his residence. Born on November 8, 1939 at Roaring Spring, PA, he was a son of Olive G. (Bickel) Love of Essex, MD and the late Chris Carson Love. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Billy and Richard Love. Joe grew up in Baltimore, MD and attended Back River Elementary School, Slemmers Run Middle School and Kenwood High School. He was formerly employed at Salvo Auto Parts in Baltimore, later moving to Elk Garden, WV, where he worked at Kessel Lumber Company. He also worked in Falls Church, VA and then relocated to Keyser, WV, where he built his home and worked for Pownell Builders. He retired from Frostburg State University after 17 years of service. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially softball. Joe was a great family man and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his wife of 44 years, Jean (Dawson) Love; four sons, Joe Love and wife Emma of Romney, WV, Jeff Love and wife Betty of Fort Ashby, WV, Brian Love and girlfriend, Karlyn and Michael Love and fiance, Chrissy, all of Ridgeley, WV; one daughter, April Sachs and husband Bill of Fort Ashby; two brothers, Thomas Love and wife Linda of Port St. Lucie, FL and Gary Love of Essex; and three sisters, Christine Allen and husband Eugene of Jonesville, VA, Penny Anstine and husband Bob of Keyser and Kathey Gorton and husband Edmond of Carlisle, PA. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Hope, Tosha, Jeffrey, Brandon, Sierra, Raven, Nicole, Tyler and Mikenna Love and Justin, Josh and Keirsten Sachs and 26 nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, July 21 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, July 22 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Eugene Allen officiating. Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
