Anne Arundel County police are looking for a man they believe assaulted and raped a 62-year-old woman at a Brooklyn laundromat.

About 10 p.m. Wednesday, a man entered the Village Laundromat in the 700 block of Church St. and attacked the woman, police said. She was thrown to the ground and sexually assaulted, said county police spokesman Lt. David D. Waltemeyer Jr.

The man stole car keys and money from the woman and a large number of coins from the business, then fled in the woman's vehicle, police said. The woman called authorities; she was treated at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, police said.

Yesterday, police released a photo of the man they believe assaulted the woman. The image was from a security camera at a nearby convenience store before the assault occurred, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the assault to call the criminal investigation unit at 410-222-3470 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7LOCKUP.
