The skinny on local clubs

Mex

Power Plant Live's newest addition has more of a bar/hangout than a sit-down restaurant atmosphere. Whether you're at the outside or inside bar, standing at one of the tiny round tables or sitting in one of the V-shaped booths, Mex can be a lot of fun all around.

Where --26 Market Place in Power Plant Live

Call --410-528-0128

Web site --mexbaltimore.com

Notable --Mex has no cover charge, though after 10 p.m. it's 21 and older. Happy hour is 4 p.m.-9 p.m. every day and features two-for-one margaritas, sangrias and Dos Equis and Heineken drafts.

Vibe --A Spaghetti Western-meets-sports-bar feel: pistols in holsters hang on the walls next to TV sets. The outside seating area with a small bar is a prime people-watching spot.

Crowd --Bargoers tend to be in their 20s and 30s, and restaurant patrons are a few years older.
