Sink a fork into a slice of Key lime pie and summer seems to cool down a few degrees on the spot. The trick for cooks is balancing the tart and the sweet. Here's a sampling of four pieces from area restaurants.

More bland than sweet or sour, this pie slice came covered in shredded coconut and half-melted whipped cream. The filling was far too thick and sat on top of a regular piecrust. At $3.66, you get what you pay for.
